Communication and Presentation Skills …

In the fast moving world of today getting our personal or organisational message communicated to our audience or clients is more important than ever.  People are busy and communication is sent and received quickly.  Whether we are attending a meeting, giving a presentation or passing a client in the street, we are communicating to other people all the time and people make up their minds very quickly about what has been communicated to them and how it has been communicated.

It still amazes people to learn that most of our communication is visual and vocal, not verbal.  Eye contact, gestures, facial expressions and appearance can communicate so much more than just the spoken word.  Volume, tone and pitch can also reveal more than what is actually being said.

What we actually say is important too of course and in considering content it is important to be mindful of what you want to communicate and who your audience is.

Delivering presentations has become a vital communications tool in today’s workplace.  Whether it be to clients, service users, prospective or current funders, the board or even during a job interview, being able to deliver a clear, memorable presentation to help get your message across to your audience is vital.

Carmichael Centre Training Services can provide training and work-shop facilitation in Communication and Presentation Skills on request.  Contact Andrew Madden T: 01 873 5702 Ext 311 E: andrew@carmichaelcentre.ie for more information.
